    Peter H. Gregory is a career technologist with over 20 years of information security experience. As executive director, executive advisory for the Office of the CISO at Optiv, Gregory works closely with consulting practices to ensure that information assurance professional services meet his clients' specific objectives. Gregory is also a strategic advisor for clients in the Pacific Northwest, Western Canada and Alaska.As a subject matter expert in security architecture and security management, Gregory's broad technical background spans multiple disciplines including security architecture, security engineering, software engineering, network engineering, systems engineering and database administration.Prior to his role at Optiv, Gregory designed and implemented security management programs for Western Wireless Corporation, Tommy Bahama Group and Concur Technologies. His expertise includes ISO27001, SOX, PCI, HIPAA and SSAE16/ISAE3402. He previously led IT infrastructure architecture and operations teams at AT&T Wireless Services. His other experience includes consulting, legalized gaming, banking, municipal government and non-profit.Gregory is a published author, having written more than 40 books on information security and emerging technology. He is a former columnist for Computerworld and contributor to Software Magazine. He holds multiple industry certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C-CISO), and Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (QSA). He studied electrical engineering at the University of Nevada and attended the FBI Citizens Academy.Gregory speaks at industry conferences including InfraGard, SecureWorld Expo, West Coast Security Forum, Interface and RSA. Gregory is the lead instructor and advisory board member for the University of Washington's Certificate in Information Systems Security, and an advisory board member for the Certificate in Information Security and Risk Management, and Cloud Transition Strategies and Management.
