Successfully resolving network and application problems is not just about capturing packets or doing a traceroute. It is about developing and following a methodology specific to your environment that yields results. This course is designed to help network analysts and network administrators get to the bottom of network problems quickly, devise a fix, and validate that fix accomplished the desired results. Case studies will be used to demonstrate how a clear understanding of your network and applications, combined with predefined troubleshooting methods will reduce the time it takes to get to the root of the problem.

    The workshop will cover:

    • Understanding your unique environment
    • Preparing for problems
    • Where to start when a problem occurs
    • Troubleshooting checklists
    • What to watch and how to watch it
    • How to avoid common mistakes

Attendees will be provided worksheets and troubleshooting checklists as part of this course. These can be used to develop a structure troubleshooting approach that is unique to their specific environments.
