Collaboration helps your team get things done across the horizontal and vertical boundaries of your organization. It is a necessary prerequisite for technology leaders who want to establish IT as a business-strategy partner. Yet a sobering 2015 McKinsey executive survey on business and technology suggests IT leaders are not only struggling to create collaborative environments, but actually moving in the wrong direction. Obstacles to collaboration abound, including lack of IT representation at the executive table, dysfunctional team cultures, and neglected relationships with customers and other business units. Busting these barriers comes down to basic communication skills. Collaboration, after all, is working together with shared knowledge gained by talking to each other.

In this session, you will learn how to supercharge your team's collaboration through simple tweaks to your personal communication style. We will explore the use of differentiated channels to reduce information overload for your intended audiences, delve into the openness and transparency created by social engagement, and learn how to amplify your presence and delivery through people-first leadership techniques. Geared toward technology executives, project managers, and team leads, this session will help you keep business lines informed, customers delighted, and team members collaborating like champs.
