  • Christian MetzSr. IT ManagerFirst American Title

Christian Metz is the Sr. IT Manager of First American's Network Engineering Group. Christian joined First American in 2010 and has also held the role of IT Manager – Server Operations.

In his role, Christian leads a team of empowered and dynamic engineers focused on building strategic relationships with First American's business leaders and key stakeholders. By gaining a firm understanding of what is important to our business he has driven major cost reductions, significantly reduced time to deliver and increased overall business uptime. Ensuring appropriate vendor alignment, Christian was able reduce Wireless expense by 30% while at the same time gaining manufacturer training credits on each purchase.

In his 15 years in the IT industry, Christian has served at many companies including Electronic Arts, the US Air Force and Orange County's United Way. Throughout all of these roles, Christian has been recognized as calm and cool under pressure, a dynamic and engaging public speaker and a person who can get things done. Taking on roles with limited knowledge or experience has helped to broaden and shape Christian's understanding of the wider aspect of IT and helped to ensure better overall organizational alignment.

Recognized as a key leader at First American, Christian has been selected to attend the 2016 Regional Leadership Forum, a very prestigious and highly sought out leadership development program. In addition, Christian was elected as the Chairman of the First American Corporate IT Agents of Change committee. Drafting the charter, building the team and ultimately delivering on all 8 key initiatives, Christian led a highly engaged team of over 65 volunteers, building them into organizational leaders and developing them to higher personal and career growth.

As a writer, Christian spent 2 years writing a monthly column for Search Server Virtualization during the height of the virtualization boom. Creating 2 handbooks, one for ESX Best Practices and another on A Real Look at VDI, Christian received much notoriety and was asked to speak at the 2009 Tech Ed for Script Logic. Christian still writes regularly as a personal hobby and hopes one day to publish a book on Living Your Life Intentionally.

In addition, Christian was recognized at the 2015 Cisco Live conference and asked by Cisco SVP Lance Perry to join the Cisco IT Management Advisory Board. This appointment comes with the opportunity to speak in front of 2,000 other Business Leaders and direct access to internal Cisco personnel to further First American's goals and objectives.

Outside of his professional career, Christian is highly involved with his church and family. Leading the Father & Son Group and Assistant Leading the Men's Ministries, Christian also has a broad understanding of the differences between corporate leadership and volunteer leadership.
